Excel HSTACK function
On March 16, 2022, Microsoft announced 14 new Excel functions. Most of them are text functions. Excel HSTACK function is one the most useful function. It is high time to learn about this function.
Summary:
The HSTACK function returns the array formed by appending each of the array arguments in a column-wise style.
Syntax:
=HSTACK(array1,[array2],…)
where,
array = the arrays to be appended.
The resulting array will be the following dimensions:
- Columns    The maximum of the column count from each of the array arguments.
- Rows    the combined count of all the rows from each of the array arguments
If the number of columns and rows does not match between the tables to be appended, you should expect #N/A error.
Example 1: We want to insert Table B on the right side of table A, to prepare Table C.
Answer: Formula (in H6): =HSTACK(B7:C10, E7:F10), which returns the Table C.
