Excel DOLLAR Function
The Excel DOLLAR function is on the of the TEXT functions. It converts a number to text using currency format, with the decimals rounded to the number of places users specify. DOLLAR uses the $#,##0.00_);($#,##0.00) number format, although the currency symbol that is applied depends on users’ local language settings.

Syntax
DOLLAR(number, [decimals])
where,
number: It is a number or a reference to a cell containing a number, or a formula that evaluates a number. It is a required condition.
decimal: The number of digits to the right of the decimal point. If the decimal reference number is negative, the number is rounded to the left of the decimal point. If this is empty, it is assumed to be 2, the default decimal point.
Example 1: How to convert a number to text using the Currency number format:
The formula is =DOLLAR(B6), which returns $155.26 in C6.
Example 2: How to convert a number to text with three digit decimal points:
The formula is =DOLLAR(B6, 3), which returns $155.260 in C6.
Example 3: How to convert a number to text format with zero digit after decimal point:
The formula is =DOLLAR(B6, 0), which returns $155 in C6, which does have zeros digit after decimal point.
Example 4: How to combine text and DOLLAR function with dollar ($) sign:
The formula is =”I have total” &DOLLAR(B6), which combines text and DOLLAR Function.
Example 5: How to use Number group to change decimal points and add dollar ($) signs:
To add dollar sign ($) before a number, (1) select the cell (C6) in which you want to add the dollar ($) sign, (2) click on Home–> then on the Number group, click on $ sign.
To increase the decimal point, click on left arrow with .000 sign, and to decrease the decimal point, click on right arrow.
