Excel CHOOSECOLS Function
On March 16, 2022, Microsoft announced 14 new Excel functions. Most of them are text functions. The new Excel CHOOSECOLS function is one the most useful function. It is high time to learn about this function.
The new CHOOSECOLS function returns the specified number of columns from an array.
Syntax
=CHOOSECOLS(array,column_num1,[column_num2],…)
where,
array = the array(s) to append. This argument is required.
column_num1 = The column number to be returned. This argument is required.
column_num2 = Additional column numbers to be returned. This argument is optional.
Example 1: We want to see the first and third columns only.
Answer: The formula (in F5): =CHOOSECOLS(B5:D11, 1, 3), which returns the data we want.
Example 2: CHOOSECOLS with filter: We want column 1 and 3 with net income more than 100.
Answer: The formula: =CHOOSECOLS(FILTER(B5:D11, D5:D11>100), 1, 3), which returns the dat we want.
